Dr. Samantha Bourdeau brings over two decades of experience and dedication to patient care in the field of optometry. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba in 1997, followed by her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2001.
After graduating, Dr. Bourdeau completed a highly regarded one-year residency in ocular disease in Miami, Florida. During this time, she trained alongside leading cornea, retina, and glaucoma clinicians, strengthening her expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex eye conditions and reinforcing her comprehensive, patient-focused approach to care.
Throughout her career, Dr. Bourdeau has owned and operated multiple optometric practices across Alberta and British Columbia. She has developed a strong clinical interest in geriatric optometry and the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease—an often under-recognized condition that can significantly affect daily comfort and quality of life. She is committed to helping patients achieve meaningful, lasting relief through individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Bourdeau is pleased to provide thorough, thoughtful eye care to patients at Ray Dahl Optical & Optometrists, while also seeing patients at Cadboro Bay Optometry.
